Aleppo, Syria – On Friday, the U.S.-led international coalition renewed strikes against locations of the extremist group of the Islamic State (IS/ISIS) in northern Syria, killing dozens of militants and destroying several armored vehicles.
Friday’s airstrikes were concentrated on the city of Raqqa, a main stronghold of the radical group in eastern Syria.
” At least 28 terrorists of the Islamic State were killed and dozens others were injured during the airstrikes,” civil rights activist A.K. told ARA News in Raqqa.
According to the source, several IS-manned armored vehicles were destroyed during the raids, adding that a training camp of the extremists was completely damaged.
Local sources said that a state of alert prevailed in the ranks of the Islamic State’s institutions in Raqqa following the strikes, while the militants collected the bodies of their comrades in the main hospital of the city.
