U.S. warplanes target tactical units of militants in Syria and Iraq

Damascus, Syria – The U.S.-led international coalition launched 11 airstrikes against locations of the Islamic State’s (IS/ISIS) militants in Syria since Wednesday, the U.S. military said Thursday. 

The coalition’s warplanes were able to destroy four military bases and a tactical unit in Syria’s Kobane, after hitting the city with five strikes.

According to a statement by the Combined Joint Force, 11 other strikes hit strongholds of the Islamic State group in Iraq on Thursday.

Mosul, al-Qaim and Baiji were major targets for the U.S.-led coalition’s fighter jets.

Among the losses of the IS in Iraq were a shipping container, tactical units, buildings, boats and land vehicles, the Combined Joint Force said.
