Damascus, Syria – The Israeli warplanes targeted sites belonging to the Syrian regime’s military forces near the capital Damascus, activists told ARA News on Sunday.

The Israeli air raids targeted the military airport of al-Sheraee in the Dimas area of Damascus suburb, and the vicinity of Damascus International Airport.

According to Syrian officials, the targeted areas were considered “secured locations”, while the Israeli media pointed out that one of the targeted sites contained missiles type S-300 near Damascus.

Also on Sunday, the Israeli warplanes reportedly carried out intensive sorties over the Lebanese Bekaa region.

The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that the Syrian government condemned the Israeli attacks, describing them as “aggressive strikes”.

According to SANA, no casualties were reported in the targeted locations.

This is the third strike launched by the Israeli air forces on targets inside the Syrian territory since the start of the crisis in March 2011.
