International coalition’s warplanes intensifies operations against militants in Iraq and Syria

Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan – On Wednesday, the Combined Joint Task Force of the U.S.-led international coalition issued a statement saying that their warplanes carried out 20 airstrikes against headquarters of the radical group of the Islamic State (IS/ISIS) in both of Syria and Iraq during the last two days. 

Seven strikes hit IS locations in Syria and 13 others targeted the group’s strongholds in Iraq since Monday. 

In Syria, the U.S.-led strikes were focused on the embattled border city of Kobane. While similar strikes hit Iraqi areas under the control of the radical group in Sinjar, Ramadi, al-Qaim and Samaraa. 

The operations targeted military vehicles, units and buildings held by the extremists of IS.
